Vision Problems In The Elderly

As we get older, it’s important to take care of our health and wellbeing. A huge part of this is looking after our eyes. Despite advances in medical and healthcare technology, cataracts and age-related macular degeneration are just a couple of examples of problems you can encounter in old age.

At Eyesite, we understand the need for complete and trusted eyecare as we age. Our expert optometrists are fully equipped with the latest eyecare technology to catch any eye problems early. You will be looked after throughout your time with us, to ensure that everything is explained to you thoroughly and all your needs are catered for.

Eye Tests For Pensioners

As we age, our vision and eyes change considerably. We tailor every eye examination to each individual, their needs and requirements. This means that you get the necessary eye test, diagnosis and treatment you need to give you the peace of mind that you’re eyesight is being looked after.

What Can I Expect From My Eye Test?

When you visit an Eyesite practice for an eye examination, you will be looked after by one of our qualified optometrists who will carry out your test. Our eye tests are fully comprehensive and our optometrists have the knowledge and expertise to advise and offer treatments for age related diseases and your specific needs.

What Is Involved?

We recommend our Advanced GOLD Eye Examination to older patients, which includes our Optomap and OCT scans. These give us a detailed picture of the back of the eye, which allows us to make the correct recommendations for vision correction and keep your eyes as healthy as possible. All patients over 60 are entitled to an NHS Sight Test, which you can use to part fund your Advanced GOLD Eye Examination.
