A Message From Your Team at the Practice


Dear Patient,


Further to our recent communication we would like to give you an update.


NHS ENGLAND have announced a suspension of all routine Eye Examinations in the country, in line with their latest guidance about COVID-19, including social distancing and the stay at home advice.


Opticians now need to contribute to the public health endeavour of ensuring that people only go out when necessary. Routine eye exams can be safely delayed. From today, we will be providing only Emergency and Essential Care.


If you require emergency eye-care please phone the practice first where we can ask you some relevant questions and offer advice. An Optometrist can then decide whether to book you an emergency appointment to come in and see us.


If you have any of the following symptoms, please contact us and we will look after you under our Emergency Care –

        Painful Red eye, New Flashes and Floaters, Recent onset severe headaches, Sudden change in vision, Recent onset double vision, Recent ocular pain.

 

As a valued patient of Eyesite we also wanted to update you on further steps that we are taking to help our patients and communities we serve.


Your eyes are your most valued asset and your sight is something you can’t live without. Therefore, our intention is to stay open as long as we can to provide the service and products you may need in these testing times. We have added some additional measures for your peace of mind and to help you remain independent in your homes. Below you will find our four-step plan –


1 – If you have spectacles to collect – If you have recently purchased spectacles from us and are unable to collect, please let us know and can post them out to you or    deliver them to your door.


2 – If you need a repair – Call us first to discuss the best options available for you. It may be that you can send them to us and we’ll aim to repair them and have them    sent back to you asap.


3 – If you are running out of contact lenses or solution – please let us know and we can order your items and have them delivered to your door.


4 – If we need to see you for an emergency appointment, the practice will be taking the recommended safety advice. This will include the use of protective clothing,    including face masks and gloves, maintaining the 2m distancing wherever possible. Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities will be available and equipment, surfaces    and handles will be regularly cleaned.


Our thoughts go out to anyone impacted by COVID-19. We wish you and your families well in what is an uncertain period.


Rest assured the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff is our highest priority. We are monitoring the situation daily as it evolves, so we can adapt quickly as we continue to put our customers and team first.


As loyal patients of Eyesite we will let you know when we are able to resume our full service and look after all your eye-care needs again.
