Advanced vision correction
Working in partnership with Advanced Vision Care, we provide corrective eye surgery advice and support.
At Eyesite we never sell a product or service that we would not use ourselves. To date, a number of our staff have had corrective eye surgery with our recommended surgeon, Mr CT Pillai MD DO FRCS FRCOphth, medical director and consultant refractive surgeon at Harley Street clinic Advanced Vision Care.
Having experienced their excellent service ourselves, Eyesite now works as a Local Management Centre for Advanced Vision Care (AVC) to bring you the opportunity to have this life-changing vision correction treatment. Our optometrists have received specialised training in refractive surgery to be able to discuss the options of laser eye treatment, implantable contact lenses, clear lens exchange or cataract surgery with you.
Working with AVC, we offer the convenience of local appointments at Eyesite for your assessment and aftercare, with treatment taking place at AVC’s specialist London clinic.
Benefits of our corrective eye surgery service
Most people who would like laser eye correction are suitable, but if you find you are not don’t be disappointed because there are alternative corrective procedures that can be considered. To find out if you are suitable please book a complimentary chat about laser eye surgery at your nearest Eyesite branch, where one of our laser qualified optometrists will be happy to discuss all your options and go through any questions that you may have.
Access to an experienced clinical team
AVC offers a totally personalised approach. Mr CT Pillai will oversee all aspects of your care; he is among the most highly qualified surgeons in the industry, with over 20 years ophthalmic experience and international recognition as the surgeon who pioneered private practice laser eye treatment in the UK. He is supported by a highly dedicated clinical team who will provide you with all the reassurance you need to ensure you receive the best possible care before, during and after your treatment.
You will have the opportunity to discuss your bespoke treatment options with Mr Pillai during the initial assessment. Overall, honesty and clarity are paramount in maintaining AVC’s uncompromising standards of care. AVC is the only clinic to offer genuine Lifetime Care and Commitment and actively encourage its patients to get in touch five, ten or twenty years after treatment to discuss any changes to their eyesight.
Market leading innovation and technology
AVC is at the forefront of treatment innovation and, with the evolution of new techniques and procedures, corrective eye treatment is now a real possibility for those with complex prescriptions and eye conditions.
All equipment is rigorously tested and assessed by our team of experts before being installed. In fact, such is AVC’s standing within the industry that global eye-care brand Technolas (Bausch and Lomb) selected AVC as a centre of excellence, to jointly facilitate ongoing education and training throughout the optical community.
Local advice and counselling
We’re here to provide support and advice from an independent point of view and base our recommendations on our thorough investigations. We’re here as your first point of contact and you can contact us freely if you have any queries. We also liaise closely with your surgeon to discuss your individual needs and provide additional care and support if required. You can rest assured that the surgeon remains ultimately responsible for your welfare.
Pre and post operative assessments
You’ll undergo thorough examinations to see if you are suitable for surgery, and we also provide a high level of continuous care after the operation to ensure correct healing. The findings of our initial assessments are passed onto the experienced surgeon who will make the final decision regarding your suitability.
Alternative eye treatments
Eyesite’s partnership with AVC means we can offer you the full range of alternative eye correction treatments, bringing you more than just spectacles and contact lenses. This includes LASIK and LASEK laser eye corrective surgery, clear lens extraction (CLE) and implantable contact lenses (ICL).
AVC also offers the revolutionary wavefront guided laser surgery, which not only corrects your spectacle prescription, but also measures and corrects other small aberrations and distortions. This highly advanced procedure can result in you ending up with better vision than would ever have been possible with spectacles or contact lenses.
LASIK eye surgery (Laser Insitu Keratomileusis) is a highly successful and popular procedure for vision correction that has been available for about 18 years. LASIK is the quickest and most comfortable of all forms of Laser eye surgery. LASIK is used to correct short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism.
For those who can’t have LASIK eye surgery because their corneas are too thin, steep or flat, LASEK eye surgery could be the solution. Instead of creating a corneal flap, the procedure involves the outer layer of the cornea being placed aside whilst the cornea is reshaped. You can find out more about LASEK eye surgery below.
Implantable Contact Lenses
Rather than changing the shape of the cornea, flexible miniature contact lenses are placed between the iris and human lens to enhance the eye’s natural focusing ability. The result is excellent quality of vision for a wide range of prescriptions.
Clear Lens Extraction & Cataract Treatment
Advanced Vision Care is also a leader in clear lens extraction (CLE); a treatment frequently offered to patients of 45 years or older who are unsuitable for implantable contact lens treatments.
