Clear Lens Extraction and Cataract
Clear Lens Exchange (CLE) with IOL (intraocular lens)
Advanced Vision Care is also a leader in CLE; a treatment frequently offered to patients of 45 years or older who are unsuitable for ICL.
CLE corrects vision by removing the lens in the eye and replacing it with a new artificial lens of a different focusing power. AVC specialises in monofocal, multifocal and astigmatic (toric) lens procedures and can correct both distance and near vision, helping to remove the need for glasses for the rest of your life.
Cataract treatment
Cataracts can be treated by Advanced Vision Care using a similar procedure to the one above. Cataract treatment is the most common optical procedure in the UK and AVC is highly experienced in this field, having performed thousands of successful procedures.
The treatment usually lasts about 15 minutes and AVC is one of the only clinics to perform both CLE and ICL treatments using local anaesthetic eye drops; no injections are required. The treatment involves a micro incision and foldable lens technology and there are no stitches, so you can return home the same day after an hour of recovery.
